Terms of Service
Effective & last updated: August 19, 2026
These Terms govern your access to and use of the Ledger Leaf website, web application, and any Android or desktop apps released under the Ledger Leaf name (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using Ledger Leaf, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What Ledger Leaf Is
Ledger Leaf is a personal finance app. Today, that means tracking subscriptions and recurring bills, forecasting upcoming payments, recording actual payments and receipts, and reminding you before something renews. We're building it out into a full personal budgeting toolkit — financial accounts, budgets, income tracking, savings goals, installments, debt payoff, investments, and net worth — and this document covers the Service as a whole, present and future.
2. Eligibility & Your Account
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement to use Ledger Leaf; if you're below the age of majority in your jurisdiction, use it only with a parent or guardian's involvement where required. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for protecting your password and account access, and for activity on your account caused by your own failure to keep credentials secure. Tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised.
3. Personal Use
Ledger Leaf is built for personal and household financial management. Unless we explicitly introduce a business-oriented plan, don't rely on it as a statutory bookkeeping system, an audited ledger, a regulated banking or payment platform, or a substitute for professional accounting, tax, or financial advice.
4. Your Financial Information & User Content
Everything you enter — subscriptions, bills, payment methods, transactions, notes, tags, receipts, and (as we ship them) accounts, budgets, goals, and the rest — remains yours. Storing it in Ledger Leaf doesn't transfer ownership to us. You grant us only the limited right to store, process, back up, and display that information as needed to run the Service, generate your calculations and reports, and comply with the law. That right ends when you delete the information, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention needs.
You're responsible for what you store: don't use Ledger Leaf to hold or distribute anything unlawful, infringing, or fraudulent, and avoid putting passwords, PINs, OTPs, or other authentication secrets into notes or attachments.
5. No Bank Integration, Ever
Ledger Leaf does not connect to your bank, mobile financial service, or card network to automatically pull balances or transactions — this is permanent, not a placeholder for "coming soon." Creating an account record inside Ledger Leaf (a bank, wallet, or card entry) creates only a record in our system, not a connection to that institution. We will never ask for your online banking password, PIN, CVV, or OTP for ordinary use.
6. Ledger Leaf Is Not a Bank
Ledger Leaf is not a bank, payment institution, lender, broker, or investment adviser. We don't hold your money, transfer funds, or issue loans. Balances and figures shown in the app represent information you or your linked commitments recorded — not funds we're holding on your behalf.
7. Not Financial Advice
Forecasts, calculations, budgets, and reports are informational tools, not personalized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. They depend on the accuracy of what you've entered. For significant decisions, consider consulting a qualified professional.
8. Subscription & Reminder Tracking
Tracking a subscription in Ledger Leaf, or removing it, has no effect on your actual subscription with the real provider — you're still responsible for cancelling it there. Reminders are provided for convenience; we can't guarantee delivery (connectivity, device settings, and notification permissions are outside our control), so you remain responsible for paying bills and managing subscriptions on time.
9. Free Features & Future Paid Plans
Ledger Leaf's core subscription-tracking features are free today, with usage limits described on ourPricing page. We may introduce paid plans in the future; if we do, the price, features, and billing period for each plan will be clearly disclosed before you're charged, and payments will be processed by an authorized payment provider, named at that time, not handled directly by us. You'll be able to cancel a paid plan at any time, with access continuing through the period you've already paid for.
10. Acceptable Use
Use Ledger Leaf only for lawful purposes. Don't attempt unauthorized access to another account or to our infrastructure, bypass security controls, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization, introduce malware, abuse authentication systems, scrape the Service outside these Terms, or use automated systems to overload it. We appreciate responsible security research reported to us directly rather than tested against live user data.
11. Availability, Changes & Beta Features
We aim to keep Ledger Leaf reliable but can't guarantee uninterrupted availability — maintenance, infrastructure issues, and events outside our control can cause downtime. The Service will keep evolving: we may add, change, or retire features over time, and anything labeled beta, preview, or experimental may be less reliable and change without the same notice as a stable feature.
12. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate an account for material violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, security threats, or as legally required, and will provide notice where reasonable and lawful to do so. You can close your account at any time — see §13.
13. Closing Your Account
Stop using Ledger Leaf and delete your account whenever you like, either through account settings (once available) or by contacting support@ledgerleaf.app. Deleting the app from your device doesn't delete your account — see our Privacy Policyfor how account deletion and data retention work.
14. Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Ledger Leaf is provided "as available." We don't guarantee that every calculation will be error-free, every reminder delivered, or every forecast accurate. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service — a missed reminder, a decision made on an estimate, or a subscription you forgot to cancel with its actual provider — except where the law doesn't allow that limitation. Nothing here waives rights that can't legally be waived.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of Bangladesh, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights available to you elsewhere. If a dispute arises, contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly before escalating further.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Ledger Leaf's features, infrastructure, or legal obligations change. The date at the top reflects the latest revision; for material changes, we'll provide notice through the app, this site, or email.
